Kendriya Vidyalaya Dul Hasti Power Project Kishtwar, Jammu & Kashmir was established on 6th Nov 1985 in the premises of Dul Hasti Project of NHPC at Kishtwar. It is situated at a distance of 1 km from the main market as well as the bus stand of Kishtwar. The Vidyalaya caters the educational needs of about 925 children of NHPC employees and other local residents under various KVS admission category from I to VI . The Vidyalaya is marching ahead under the directions of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, a leading educational set up under Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.
This Vidyalaya was inaugurated on 6th Nov 1985 up to class 5th by the then Chief Engineer Shri Kanwar Pritpal Singh of NHPC under the dynamic leadership of Principal, Shri K. K. Sarthi. With the passage of time the school had been upgraded to class XII in 1991 with Science stream and now the Vidyalaya is functioning from Balwatika 3 to XII, double section from I to X and single section each in XI (Science) & XII (Humanities). The Vidyalaya has improved its infrastructure facilities and education standard. The Vidyalaya has established 2 well furnished computer labs for primary and secondary students with 46 computers. The Vidyalaya set up a mathematics lab in 2004 as per the directions of CBSE to facilitate young children to understand the concept of mathematics easily. The Vidyalaya has a sound library, multimedia room, an auditorium and a resource room for primary also.
